Not every studio session needs to be groundbreaking. Some just need to happen. Those quiet hours when you're tweaking a kick drum or layering a pad are where the next breakthrough quietly starts. Keep showing up. The magic hides in the mundane.

As a producer, finding original vocals can be a pain in the a$$... especially if you don't sing or have a vocalist on-hand 24/7 for when inspiration strikes.

ACE Studio might be the solution for that. We can now easily synthesise ultra-realistic vocals using AI.

It’s as simple as writing your melody in as MIDI, typing in the lyrics for each note, and you can even then change the characteristics of how the notes work together with just a few clicks.

We're not talking robotic sounding vocals either. These are legit!

There are a bunch of different voice models to choose from and you can tweak the tone, vibe, and style to match your track perfectly.

Great for writing sessions, demos, vocal chops, or even dropping full-blown AI vocals straight into your tunes if you're feeling bold. Definitely worth a look!

This week’s spotlight is on musical storyteller, Mike Black Box.

A lifelong guitarist, composer, and explorer of sound, Mike brings decades of experience into every track he makes.

Originally from Liverpool and now based in Bulgaria, his journey has taken him through punk bands, reggae tours, jazz studies, and collaborations for film, theatre, and stage... all of which shine through in his intricate, heartfelt compositions.

His latest piece, ‘Vertically Aligned Nano Tube Arrays’, is a beautifully crafted ambient track featuring his signature guitar work. It’s deep, immersive, and full of soul. Perfect for zoning out, reflecting, or just appreciating pure musical craftsmanship.

While we’re still keeping things invite-only and exclusive to you guys for now, a lot of very exciting stuff has been happening in the background. It's hard work trying to keep it all quiet so I don't spoil the surprise on anything! 😂

You can still use the community in the meantime while we're in this temporary phase between beta and launch.

This weeks track of the week on ‘The Underground’ is Island Hill x Komilev – ‘Voyage’

I’ve had this one on loop for a few days now. It’s hypnotic, well produced, and the groove proper locks you in.

With cool synth work, vibey rhythms, and a hooky vocal that echoes in your head, ‘Voyage’ 100% deserved the feature this week.

Out now via John Digweed’s legendary Bedrock label, the track is a collab between Island Hill and Ukrainian producer Komilev. A killer pairing that blends Island Hill’s songwriting with Komilev’s slick production.

If you like it deep, melodic, and full of interesting details, this ones a winner. Check it below…

This weeks Plugin of the Week is: Bloom Vocal Choir from Excite Audio.

As we seem to be on a vocal flex this week, this is an impressive choir plugin I’ve been having a play around with.

You can get some really nice textures out of this one and they sound pro AF! Definitely worth a blast.

This will be awesome for Trance, Ambient, Melodic House & Tech. For film score kinda stuff, I think even Hans Zimmer himself would be impressed.

This one has blown me away this week!

Plugin Alliance’s plugins are some of the best in the business. I use their BX True Peak Limiter on every track (and I paid £90 for it… when it was on sale!)… so to see THIS beast for free is madness!

Brainworx are giving away a standalone mastering app, with a lot of the features from the True peak limiter, for 100% free! (The interface even looks similar!)

It has a bunch of mastering presets built-in which you can tweak, but the main kicker for me is that you can do batch mastering.

So, if you have an album or EP and you want a consistent sound for the whole lot, you can add them into the standalone app and it will master them all the exact same. Game changer!
